Wisconsin PBL Prepares for State Conference
By: Courtney Bauer

Greetings Wisconsin Phi Beta Lambda! I hope everyone enjoyed their holiday break and is ready to get back in the swing of things! With second half of this PBL year being about a month underway, I hope PBL is on everyone’s mind. This is a great opportunity to gain new members and show the rest of the student organizations why we are Raising the Bar!

Your state officer team has been working hard planning the 2010 State Leadership Conference. We are hoping to make this experience completely different than any other State Leadership Conference you have attended. Mark your calendars for April 16 and 17, and make your way to Blue Harbor Resort in Sheboygan to have fun, meet other members from around the state, and earn a spot at our National Leadership Conference, this summer in Nashville, Tennessee!

Currently, PBL membership as a has increased about 6% from this time last year. This is great! However, Wisconsin membership has decreased 43 members from this time last year. I hope to have Wisconsin’s membership grow significantly throughout the rest of this year. What will your chapter do to meet our membership goals?

I have also heard from various chapters regarding the different activities they have participated in, such as ITT-Green Bay’s FBLA-PBL Week events highlighted in the Chapter Spotlight below. Make sure your chapters are actively participating in community service and business professional events like these on a regular basis.

Leadership events are also a great way to get members involved and engaged in the PBL ideals. Featured
on page 4 of the Wisconsinite, you will read about leadership development strategies that will help you and your members flourish as leaders in their personal lives, PBL chapters, and professional careers beyond college. Lastly, if you have any pictures or articles for our next edition of the Wisconsinite, please send them to me. We would love to feature our chapters because we know you are all doing great things and would like to share your successes with the state!

Keep up the great work, Wisconsin PBL! We are very proud of you and are excited to see the progress you will make in the months leading up to the State Leadership Conference in April!
